who is the superhero in the Ironman extras that’s blurred out?

rikki_boo21 asked:

In the comic book extras on the Ironman Blue Ray disc, Gary Conway (I think) has a display case of superhero figures behind him. Two of them are blurred out, an almost all blue one and an all red one. Anyone know who those are?

I do not have the DVD so I’m not sure but I’d imagine that they were DC characters and since Iron man is a Marvel character they probably just didn’t want to promote for DC

I haven’t seen the interview so I can’t be sure about this but I’ve actually heard that it is Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch from the Fantastic Four. It sounds weird at first that Marvel would have to censor out two of their own figures, but it makes sense because 20th Century Fox owns the film rights to the Fantastic Four not Marvel Comics/Marvel Studios who released the Iron Man movie.

Back in 2003, 20th Century Fox sued Marvel Comics for creating the TV series “Mutant X” because it infringed on the agreement that the two studios had which gave 20th Century Fox the rights to the X-Men film franchise. Although Marvel basically won the suit because the TV series was different from the X-Men franchise, Marvel pretty much lost the ability to promote the series because the TV series’ name was too similar to the X-Men franchise.

If you can see any of the Fantastic Four members in the background then I apologize ahead of time for giving the wrong answer. Again I can’t watch the interview myself to try to verify it for sure.
